10 Year Old Daughters 1st Muskie
« on: Apr 17, 2005, 09:31 PM »
Trolling a #10 Husky Jerk with 8Lb test in Lake Hopatcong N.J my 10 year old daughter landed her first Muskie.
Ironically my son and I were trying for Muskies but my daughter wanted to catch Trout or Pickerel. Hmmm guess Ill use smaller baits for the spring. Fish measured 48" with a girth of 24.75" approx 35/36 lbs. Needless to say she was thrilled with her catch and she is also a proud memeber of Muskies Inc,Chapter 22.

That's the way it should be! It gets 'em hooked and keeps their interest.
That is one hell of a nice fish for a ten year old. 8 # test? Wow!

Thanks guys. She handled the fish like a pro didnt even panic when it almost spooled her. She was already a fishing fanatic before this fish and I was so proud of her when she told me to release it.

Wow, a great musky for a first one.     I dont know who's smile is bigger, hers or yours.   It sure is something to be proud of.

Thanks for all the congrats guys. She didnt even need to catch this fish to get hooked, a 4Lb Largemouth 2 seasons ago did it, but she has been waiting for her first Muskie. Her and my son get mad at me when I tell them its time to go home, even after 9 to 10 hours on the water.
Tight Lines and good fishing.
