Pequod1  they're all to be proud of    I let a decent 8pt slip by me twice on opening day   Never saw him again  Took a 4pt later on  good enough for me

How old is that flyer ?

I have all of those shotguns and rifles.
I recall wanting The 12ga Ithica Deerslayer a long time ago. I ended up buying one and it never matched up to my Mossberg 500. Mostly because of the location of the noisey safety on the trigger guard. As we all know, you make the slightest noise and a deer will look you in the eyeball

That is pretty cool. That H&R was the first pistol I ever owned.

I have both deer slayer and Mossberg 500. I love the deerslayer only down fall like you said the safety. Still I choose the Ithaca over the Mossberg anyday however those days are numbered my 10 year old gets it when he's old enough to hunt. It was my wife's grandpa's gun

I 've got 2 of the Deer Slayers in 20 gauge   One is really old with the longer barrel   They don't get much use now that rifles are legal, which I don't know why I even use a rifle since most of my kills are under 30 yds  I guess the Henry 30-30 is just more fun

Same here. 20 gauge Ithaca . I found the shirt slug barrel at a gun show a few yrs back and bought it.  Killed a lot of deer with it out to around 70 yds and I still use it today on a small 55 acre parcel I hunt.
