Insomnia
« on: Sep 14, 2023, 12:53 AM »
It's 1:47am as I type this.
Another night awake.
I try to get to bed about 11-11:30.
Went at 11:30 tonight.
1:30am I was still tossing and finally said eff it!
Got up and grabbed a few baby carrots.
I do this for about 7-10 days and then crash for a few.
Then the cycle starts over.
I slept back in my college days, but I was stoned a lot too back then.
I have tried all kinds of things.
Melatonin, and others.
I do not want to go onto a sleeping pill or anything questionable.
Like they say, "I'll sleep when I die!".

Maybe.   ;)

Think you already have the solution to the problem  :w00t: :whistling:

I'm here with you Mac. I have never slept, I just can't get my mind to shut down. Might want to try benadryl.  It doesn't seem to help me fall asleep,  but once I do fall asleep I sleep good. Only problem is it seems to stop working if I take it too often.  Melatonin does nothing for me and sleep pills wreck me the next day.

I struggle with this too.  Its worse if I am not physically active after work.  Part of it might stem from years of consistent night fishing.

It really doesn't help that much.
I use it for the neuropathy, and it helps TONS for that.

Like others, my mind doesn't shut down.
I lie there thinking about really stupid trivial BS.
Crazy stuff.
If I'm going fishing the next day, I'll lie there thinking about what color hook I'm going to start with.
LOL

If you got an MM card, which you need down there go to your local dispensary and talk to someone who will tell you what you need and ask for edibles..
My bride used to take 3 gabbas and 3 melatonin every night and complained her stomach was always hurting.. She has one of those stressful jobs …
I finally got her on 20 mg indica gummies and she sleeps like a baby..
 Just my opinion..   ✌️✌️✌️✌️

Thanks Dom.
I've tried this.
Really didn't work.
Better, but not worth it (to me).
I've had this sleep issue for 40+ yrs.

Also, I'm not a fan of edibles.
I have had a LOT of different kinds, even ones with indica (versus sativa of course) as you mentioned.
I really don't like getting high.
When I use it for the neuropathy pain, I take 1-2 hits off a small pipe when I need it and that does the trick without getting too high.
Usually at night before bedtime because that's when the pain is the worst.
The advantage of smoking it is that the results are almost immediate.
Edibles take time and then they hit like a freight train.

But thanks bud.

Mac CBD might be worth a shot.  I tend to lean on the indica which helps but not as much as being active before bed.  If I wade the river for a few hours Im done.

I tried 4 different kinds of CBD oil.

This was 2....maybe 3 years ago.
They finally gave me the strongest and it really didn't do anything.
Mind you, I was looking for relief from the neuropathy from it.
But I was taking at night before bed, as that is when the pain is the greatest.

Thanks!

I went to bed at 2am.
Got back up at 3am
I'm still awake now at 3:40am.

Tomorrow is Sunday and I can sleep in.  lol
Glad I don't have to get up to go fishing early.
