Alright time to get this thread moving for 2011
the wife was feeling some seafood, and I wanted to BBQ, so here is the comprimised, Cedar wrapped Shrimp and Scallons with garlic bread
I started off by hitting the local fish market, grabbed some jumbos garlic shrimp and some sea scallops, also stopped at the bakery and grabbed a fresh loaf of bread...
the shrimp are a basic garliuc butter and herb mix, nothing special
the scallops are parprika, tomato and red pepper marinade (garlic as well)
Once the above was ready, i soaked some cedar wraps I picked up at the local Lowes store, as well as some butcher twine
Each wrap holds about 3 each of the shrimp or scallops
fold them over use the twine to bind them nice and tight, pack them up and you are ready to go
Hit them on the BBQ (atleast 400 degress) and give them 2-3 minutes a side, they should be looking like this...
one you you flip them and they have had there 4-6 minutes in the heat, you should be good to go, the garlic bread takes about the same amount of time but you have to watch it closer
Once in the house you can leave them stacked on the cutting board for a decent presentation, people can just grab them when ready
Cut the twine and you should see somthing like this..
