How do you catch the most of your cats setlines(etc) or rod and reel? Im hooked on both could live without either one.

I think cats look cool tough looking I don't eat them and also make a point of educating some people on the 24'' maximum size for keeping them in Manitoba alot of people don't know that. They are my favorite fighting fish  :)

I like both methods.
If I'm looking to pile on the fish and put some in the freezer or have a fish fry I will use setlines.  Setlines are a blast, they take a little more work sometimes but payoff can be is worth it.  And they are legal in Indiana.

But 90% of the time I'll use rod and reel to catch "MR. WISKERS".

Here in Oklahoma, pretty much anything is legal just short of dynamite and hand grenades. I only use rod and reel myself because set lines just aren't as fun to me. I suppose if I was trying to lay in a lot of meat I would use them but I have more than enough fish caught on rod and reel as it is (catfish is my favorite eating fish).  A lot of guys set out jugs for cats during the day while they bass fish. I have lots of friends that set up trot lines and you can find all kinds of limb lines all over our lake. A lot of really big cats are caught by noodlers here.
