WOW another DOKKEN fan, thought me and KP were the only ones!!!
Back in the mid 80's those 3 dokken cassettes were played over and over in my car!!!  Great era to be alive!!

Saw those guys open for loverboy at Weedsport back in 86, they booed and through bottles at LB, wanted Dokken back up there!!

Nope, I was a HUUUUUGE Dokken fan back in the day.   Almost to the point of being annoying about it   :D :D   I went to the Aerosmith/Dokken show just to see Dokken.  Also went to the Monsters Of Rock show in Buffalo in '87 I think, just to see Dokken.  It was at that show I discovered Metallica   ;)

Nice thread ,Gamma Fish you have quite the collection of guitars and other equipment. Fishing Mechanic music and baseball/sports do have some common ground people/fans who are passionate about their team or band-style of music. I'm not the biggest heavy metal-hard rock fan but respect the talents of musicians who choose this style and their fans.
I have a question that one of you maybe able to answer back in the late 1970's while a student at S.U.N.Y. Cobbleskill my roomate introduce me to a group called the New York Flyers out of the greater Syracuse-Utica-Rome area. I saw them once at a club down in my section of the state. Anyone know whatever happened to these fellows.

Funny you mentioned this band mr. clean.... I'm a contractor and completely re- modeled Phil D'Allassandro's home back about 12 -15 years ago. he was the keyboard player for them. He used to run a guitar shop in Liverpool, Big Apple Music, when I was doing work for him. A great guy and he also did my business tax preperation for me awhile back. I think he still does the accounting thing, Not 100% sure now though. He gave me demos of them and listened to them for awhile and then put them in storage. Small world!!--KP 8)

This was my first live show as a kid, they rocked even better in '05. Plus Mendoza played a G&L bass on the last tour.

As KP mentioned, Phil liver right around the corner from me (still does) and still deals in music related gear out of his house.
Earl Hamilton was the drummer and Chris Tso played guitar for the NY Flyers....who went on to be called the Flyers a few years later.
Great band !
Did you remember a band called Alec Star ?   If you saw the Flyers, you should remember them as they were the two biggest bands in the area between 1978 and 1983.   I used to work a bit with Alec Star.   Some close friends were in the band and still do the yearly reunion shows at either Turningstone casino or Vernon Downs with the NY Flyers !   Lots of great memories !
The curcuit back then was McMatts in Johnstown, Cobleskill College, Allens in Scotia, The Hullabaloo in Renssalear, JJ's in Rome, The Loft in Little Falls, The Palmer House in Herkimer, The Stanley Theater in Utica, Four Acres in Marcy and a few clubs in Albany that I can't remember.    Great times for sure !
I believe I'm being punished now for what I did back then  ;D ;D ;D
