Wake up Sask Peeps
« on: Mar 15, 2004, 02:26 PM »
hello fellow anglers hows the fishing on Sask waters these days? Ihave heard a few reports but nothing to get excited about cant wait till the spring thaw is over and the new season begins going to pick myself a spot and have a good quiet time relaxing and catching some fish. Well I hope this forum is going to pick up over the next few months and have a few more post than mine LOL later

Howdy Y'all

Just a quick question about fishing in Sask.

Where do you do the most of your fishing ?

Being from Manitoba it seems we have too many choises at times but the only fishing I have done in Saskatchewan is in the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon by the wier.
here  fishy , fishy , fishy.......

Been trolling the ice fishing boards still!!!
When I was in Regina most of the time
we were on Last Mountain or Pasqua & Mission
Out west it was Deif- Riverhurst all the way
to Sask Landing.
Closer to the MB boarder, Spiritwood by Yorkton
Boundrey & Rafferty by Estevan. Duck Mountain
a bit farther north, Greenwater Lake
Tobin, La Ronge, Nemebin, Pierce & La De Isle
up in Meadow Lake Prov Park.
Saskatchewan fishing is the best!

We didn't do that well (3 walleye - 7.2 lbs) but there was a few teams did fine. The wining team was 22 lbs and the biggest fish was 13.36 lbs. Wind was bag and made for a lot of work for boat control. I think there was about 5 teams over the 20 lb mark. Not bad for a 1 day tournament and 5 fish limit with 2 oversize. We had alot of fun though and will be back for next year. We also tried to go out Sunday but we only lasted about 3 hours before we were frozen. it was 3 degrees, extremely windy and the sleet was hitting us so hard we couldn't face the wind. Oh well there is always next weekend.

I took the afternoon off and went out to Pelican yesterday...I canoed out and got 3 walleye about 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 lb and one whitefish about 3 lbs in the first hour then it died off with only a couple of 'quick release' fish in the next hour so I went and did some chumming then checked out the river east of the pfra dam on the way back.  Except for a few ticks there's no sign of life there at all.  No crowds, no boss ;D.

We were up to Dief. yesterday (Sunday May 16) and launched at Elbow. We fished the QuAppelle Dam area. We did ok but fishing was slow. We got 5 walleye (9 lbs, 5lbs, 2 x 3 lbs, 2 lbs) and 1 Rainbow, 1 Pike, 1 White Fish.

Oh ya... and a nasty sun burn!  ;D
