Today was Free Fishing Day in VT, so I took my annual trip to Bennington to fish the Walloomsac .
I fished from 11 AM to 6 PM.
The weather was perfect - - sunny, blue skies, 80 degrees but slight breeze - - as were the water conditions.
My performance was lack luster most of the day - - I caught three small (9" - 10") rainbows and lost a few more similar sized fish - - although I did see some other fishermen catch some nice ones. (One guy landed a 16" brown and another reeled in three good-sized rainbows).
Fortunately, my last minute of fishing made up for the rest of the day: I caught a 19" rainbow near the Henry covered bridge.
