Foul Weather Fishing
« on: Oct 27, 2018, 03:26 PM »
I tried the North Hoosic in North Adams from 10 to 11 AM this morning.

The weather was what I can only describe as . . . , well, foul.

Cloudy, breezy (although not the NorEaster we are experiencing right now), steady drizzle and forty degrees. Somewhat surprisingly, the stream levels were not terribly high.

I caught a 10" brown just below the entrance to the Natural Marble Bridge State Park and reeled in another 13" brown below the Eclipse Mill Dam.

Both fish were practically underneath the rocks that I was standing on when I caught them. So it was a bit unexpected (insert Monty Python's "No one expects the Spanish Inquisition") when they struck at the last possible moment before I withdrew my hook from the water.

Then it was off to a pierogi bee for the holiday bazaar for my kids' school.
