jerking flies?
« on: Oct 04, 2009, 01:21 AM »
hello,  Target is lanklock salmon..... I have had success before jerking streamers at the surface with just mono in the spring.  Do you also do this method with leadcore to get the fly down more or do you use a weight with mono?  I've been reading alot of your posts and with my experience a little more speed is necessary for salmon.   I'm looking to run dodger/fly combos off my downriggers while also jerking streamers but the dodgers work properly at much slower speeds than what I would be traveling while jerking.  Is this a possible combo?

The dodgers will spin and make a mess if you try running them at higher speeds necessary for jerling streamers
