Well, it was a nice day to be out on the lake. Caught 7 walleyes, 3 SMB and 3 rock ball. Only one walleye was a keeper. (17") Lots of bait fish along the breaks, just no fish on them. Water temp was 65/66* out on the lake....h2l

I went out of the Day launch with a friend yesterday. It certainly was a gorgeous day. We only caught 3 eyes with & the only keeper being 15& 1/32 in.

With 2 weeks until walleye/pike season opens, I checked, the GSLFF contest has been cancelled for this year. Later contest are TBD.
Right now the lake level is about where it should be for early May. Not a lot of water coming into the rivers/creeks....h2l

The launch at Northville is closed. Normal years it opens about the last week in April, we will have to wait and see. The campsite is closed still. Usually opens early May, I have a feeling that will remain closed for awhile. For the time being the boat will remain in the garage. None of the marina's have started putting in their docks. I did see someone with a boat at the Northville beach the other day but now that has a cable across it. Not worried, the walleyes don't usually get onto my spots until later in May....h2l

As of this morning the Northville launch is open and they have the dock in. Walleye/pike opens next weekend. Keep in mind, until then NO fishing at all North of the Northville bridge...h2l

First day on the lake this year. Water temp 57* and got up to 62* by 4PM. Eight hits, 5 walleyes. 16 to 18 1/2 inches. Black jig, tight to bottom. Didn't mark any of the ones I caught and not more than 1 from any one spot. The lake will be a ZOO the rest of the weekend. Lots of boats out today....h2l
