John, I use the entire wing from a 6-7” perch.  Both the stingnose and the buckshot work equally well but you have to have deeper water for the vertical jigging to work best in some places.  It does work very well at port bay and Sodus.  I also use it in Cayuga a lot.  Beats using fatheads.  I don’t know if I can get out this fall unfortunately. Recovering from TKR surgery. Hoping to maybe make it by November.

Do you skin or scale them?
Gonna try them from some eyes
I actually just fillet off of the wing and have myself eye nuggets!!
