December fishing

Hello to anyone that can help me from this area...

A good friend of mine is coming to Newport News on Dec 16th and knows nothing of the area!
He is looking for possibilities of pier fishing or reasonable boat rental situations.
He will be there for a week, so anything is possible.

If you guys could post some possibilities, and what is being fished for in mid December... I would very much appreciate it!

From the shore in Dec. you could bottom fish for Blackfish with green crabs
around rock jetties.
For stripers on the bottom, bunker if you can find them, on a fish finder
rig. Or  may be flounder on the bottom with a worm.
Bass should still be around but you need to check local knowledge.
