Title: Warming up the fly rods
Post by: 2LMKR2 on May 03, 2021, 08:06 PM
Went out for a while after the rain ended today, thought I might find some crappie and bass. Didn't find any crappie but found some nice bluegill 8”-9” and several redear 9 ½” – 10 ½ “

Love them on a fly! Nice fish! Need to shoot that dang long beard so I can start chasing those gills!

The fly rod is my favorite, just hardly have the time to get it out!

Got some bluegills and a few nice redear again today then went looking for some bigger fish. Only got some average to small bass and this 24” channel cat

haha that cat had to be a ride on the fly! nj landing her.
Thanks, and yes the cat was fun but it wasn't on one of my light weight rods, the rod I was using is setup for the large toothy critters. It hit a 7” pike fly.

Got out for a while again today looking for larger fish. Caught the skinniest pike I think I have ever seen, 23” but looked more like an eel. Lost one more that was a little bigger.
