i just read in a book that all paritics r safe to eat in north america as long as the meat is cooked

he must be talking about parasites...you know those little gray lines running through your fish in the summer.i dont think they change anything about the taste of the fish but it looks terrible.i see much less of it in the winter

Yeah, parasites makes sense.  Cook 'em and eat 'em.  The more protein the better I always say!  New low carb snack - parasites!  Carbohydrates per serving:  0g

Bill,     I believe those lines you are referring to are the veins in a fish.  The Parasites are the black dots on the skin and sometimes in the meat itself.  I have been told and read that they are not harmful in the least.  I will eat the fish if there are only a few,  :)  more than that,  I kinda get grossed out.  :-X

He obviously means fish parasites.  I was just trying to take a fun crack at MissFishy with my politics/Kerry quip and she didn't bite.
