Big graph mount- which one?
« on: Mar 26, 2021, 09:09 AM »
I've always used the RAM mounts to install my graphs, but last year I learned the hard way that the size C is no good for my new Helix 9. I have a bunch of these for all sorts of purposes, so I actually installed 2 arms and 4 ball mounts to hold it for the season. I think I need to make that less of a mess this year. So go to look at the price of the D size and wowzers, that ain't cheap. So if I'm gonna spend that maybe I should consider fancier options.

What do you guys like to use for the larger size graphs? I don't have a place to flush or panel mount, so it has to go in the corner of my console and I will probably need a long-ish arm. Just considering my options!

Jethro I'm dealing with the same thing... my helix 9 is mounted to the dash and I don't like it... looks like I've gotta bite the bullet and order the ram mount.. I dont see anything else I like

The Balzout are only slightly more money than the Ram D size with a medium arm which I actually ordered Monday. I spent $165 with the shipping. That was why I started this post, with the cost of that I might as well consider something "boutique".

Almost went with Traxstech since I have a whole lot of other stuff from them but I called and it's 4 to 6 weeks minimum. I've used Ram mounts for so many years... it'll be fine.

Geoff
I had the RAM D in my Lund with my HDS8 and it would slip.  Especially coming home in rough water.

Get the good stuff!

I dont see anything wrong with the ram mounts myself... if I end up having issues with it then I'll upgrade...
