Title: April 1st
Post by: centerpinjosh on Mar 09, 2015, 09:54 PM
I know all this run off from this snow we have is gonna make the first day of heaven (trout) season a rough one but who here is ready for it? I have new line on my spinning reel and my trout Centerpin... I have my fly rod all ready to rock and an order of lures and flies coming in from fish USA... I would say I'm pretty much ready how about you guys/gals?

I'm guessing my opening day is going to be closer to May 1st. Although, the snow is showing real signs of disappearing.

I hiked through knee high snow to get skunked in what seemed like class 5 rapids last year. If I'm lucky, I'll still be laid off by then and I can drive south to find an open pond somewhere.

Our snow here in Steuben is leaving us very quickly... If it hurries up might be enough time for the rivers to drop a little by the first

I always keep the snowshoes in my toolbox during the winter. They'll probably stay in there. ;D

one of the bigger problems even if the streams aren't flooded they won't be stocked well ,the streams have to hit a certain tempture before they can be stocked

Did a little scouting on the Oriskany yesterday in the Walesville area. Did notice a lot of big "Bugs" on the snow banks . Had a descent one tagged for a bit but lost it. I know they are holding in my go to spots but I will wait until the water temp comes up a little more ...
