Donna and I are heading north.
2 week trip to visit our kids over the 4th.
There's a retirement party scheduled for my assistant at work when we get in on Wednesday late afternoon.
She doesn't know I'm coming.
Also taking up my dad's tools.
A LOT of tools!!!
I estimate about 2000-2500 lbs of boxes, tools, floor jacks, jack stands, etc.
All professional stuff.
Not China junk, or even Craftsmen.
Snap-on and Mac Tools.
They were at my brother's house (my parents' old place).
As most of you know, David died a couple months back, so he won't need them.
My youngest brother, Frank, doesn't want or need them, nor do I.
One of my sister's boys works as a diesel mechanic, so Frank and I decided that he should get the tools.
My sister is thrilled to say the least.
My dad was a mechanic and raised a family using those tools.
So, we felt that it would be good if one of his grandkids got the chance to do the same.
This nephew of mine doesn't know they are coming, so it will be quite the surprise.
I told my sister to ask him to stop by the house Wednesday evening to help me unload my truck and a trailer.
He has no idea that he will be unloading these tools that are to become his.
Should be kinda cool.
Donna's sister and BIL from Detroit will be in town too.
Family party at her other sister's place in Hamburg on the 4th.
Jeff is throwing a barbeque next Saturday for us.
My other son, Christopher, and daughter, Kelly, are coming.
Chris is bringing his son CJ (our grandkid).
Nice family get together.
Also planning to head out for some eyes on Erie once or twice with a buddy while we are up there.
Should be a fun trip.
Leave for back home on Friday the 7th.
Back home here on the 9th.
