You simply cannot beat homemade kraut.
It’s easy and it’s good for you.
I have had people that normally don’t care for it enjoy my homemade.

That looks really good Ben.
Pulled some lentil  soup out of the freezer.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Cooked up some cheek meat and 1 walleye fillet in pan with butter..
Then I dipped it in a garlic butter sauce, with a Caesar salad

We do the same but break up the fish into the salad……cheeks too!

My kraut was a bust. First too much salt , then tried to rinse some out and I killed the fermentation . I'll try again soon. Glad yours came out good.

When this happens simply add salt again and start the fermentation process over.

I have found it best to make kraut in cooler temps in the basement over longer periods of time.
My basement floor is like 55F and it takes maybe 3-4 mos but the kraut comes out crazy good.

Upstairs in the kitchen, at maybe 65-70F, it takes a month or so but isn't as good.

Of course everyone's taste is different.
