Man I can't wait to retire LOL  ;D

Are you kidding? I have to go back to work to get some rest ;D
After all that digging around, my son and I went to a Red Wings game.

Perfect night for a ball game. We left at 10:15 , bottom of the 8th tied at 8-8. Lehigh Valley won in the 11 th.

My Bride and I are headed for Letchworth for a picnic and some sightseeing today. When I get back I've got to mow the lawn AGAIN!

Tomorrow, I'm having 2, 900lb bags of sand delivered. My son and I are gonna get rid of the mulch in the horseshoe pits. We're digging down 10" and filling with sand. And I still have vegetable towers to plant.

I might even get to fish tomorrow :-\

OYE!!!

At least I'm not driving 1000 miles a week in a bucket truck :thumbup_smilie:

One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

The pit is 3'x4'. Each inch of sand = 1 cubic foot. 8" below ground and 1" above is 9 cubic feet per pit.......theoretically  ;D

Fresh striper on the grill....mmmmmmm....

My brother lived in Northport and we used to go out to Montauk for striper. Take a big chunk and baste it with olive oil, Dijon mustard and roll it in fresh cracked pepper, sea salt and parsley. Fire up the grill!

Mmmmmmm!

Have fun bud.

It's a yearly treat for my Bride and I ;D My uncle lives down there and has a friend who raises American Water Buffalo, a cross between a Buffalo and an Angus Steer that are certified organic grass fed.... I get the pleasure of grilling some beautiful steaks and let me tell you it is some of the best meat I've ever had. Last time it was 4 28 oz Rib chops  ;D ;D ;D ;D Then we head to a Ma and Pop seafood joint called Meadings for the freshest crabs and fish a body could ask for. Well worth the trip if anyone is interested, and the beaches are nice too.

Sounds like  great time. Enjoy yourself.

Got 1800 lbs of sand delivered this morning.

Dug the horseshoe pits down 8-9" as planned.

Laid in 2 layers of landscape fabric.

Filled them up with sand.

Went and picked up a 10' piece of 3/4" galvanized pipe. Made up a couple new 5' stakes.

My son came over with a tamper and we pounded them down a bit. Pitched a game and they were just great.

Although, the stinker beat me. I'll get him tomorrow.

They did take all that sand.  And they played really well. A few mid court amenities and we'll be very comfortable for our weekend matches. I really enjoy time with my Son. He's so much like me it's scary  ;D
