21.5 pound laker
« on: Sep 25, 2012, 08:34 PM »
I heard that someone who lives on Newfound found a laker floating in the water. It was to supose to have weighed 21.5 pounds and 33" long. Has anyone heard more about this fish?

For a laker to be 33" and 21.5lb it would need to have historic girth. I'm not doubting a 21.5lb laker was found, but the length would have to be in the high 30's
It is better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

I agree the girth would be huge, however this is what I heard. this is why I am asking if anyone else had heard anything about this fish.

First I heard of it.

I caught a laker 33" @ 16lbs and that had a huge girth on it too, so 21.5lbs sounds like a bit of a stretch.

Just heard, 39" long, 21.3 lbs and roughly 40 yrs old female.

They believe it died of a heart attack. FnG will be mounting it for display.

Wish she could of hung in there till this winter.........

No wonder it got a heart attack being that obese  ;)

Btw, looks more like a cross-dressing cod than a char.

Probably laughed itself to death watching Red, Bobhouse Bull and I trolling around Newfound the last couple of days. I know I almost did.
