I continue to struggle with the spring bite.  Only eyes so far came from casting shallows after dark (not complaining) and a few shorts dragging worms morning/evening.  Brought my 16 yo son yesterday and we managed only 1 short, was hoping for a little better experience for him and wanted to get into this jigging (he gets bored trolling) bite.  When I’m dragging worms I’m just not seeing many fish - hit all depths from
12 -23 fow.   Probably just need to be patient and teach him the same.

Hi Probie, the good thing is you are both out fishing together! You will get them if you stay at it. I think the crawler harness bite will pick up as the water warms in the coming weeks. Try using black and purple or black and green buck tail jigs with a night crawler and drift & jig over the drop offs or where you see active marks. It is a proven method on Oneida and elsewhere. Also 4 inch paddle tail swim jigs can work well. Stick with it and you will get them. Some days they are just not firing no matter what method you use.

 Great eaters oneida1 👍
Probie , you can try sonars or jigging raps
, far as hair jigs many colors and combo colors work depending on their mood
I personally don’t tip with worms I just use a touch of smelly jelly , sometimes it’s just a case of presentation
Trolling I like sticks , spoons using lead
  Good luck

109 is back in place. Been picking up a few dandy looking perch and walleyes right before dark dragging worms in 12 fow. Saw some carp this morn doing the spawn dance. Its warming up fast.

   Thanks xc600
Looks like my shore spots are coming to an end as the weeds are becoming a problem where I fish , oh well I’m not complaining, looks like I need to get the boat wet

Yea weeds are coming had visibility to 13' they'll grow fast. Might be me but by the looks of my sea wall the lake is a little low.
