I've never fished the canal in Sylvan before, any tips for what works there?  Live bait? Sonars? Raps? Jigs? Tubes?  Thanks in advance, tight lines

My last time there all of those were being used..

Excellent, I'm off for 10 days starting tomorrow so I hope to get a few times out before the close of the season.

Yo Sully Choo Choo and Trap,

Thanks for the reports. You saved me some driving. Tomorrow sounds soon enough for me. Going to river fish today.

Decided to hit the shoreline and do a little shore casting with Filet&release before the season closes. Casting was a little rusty at first.
Once i remembered how to do it, things got better. :w00t: We managed to land 24 eyes. a perfect dozen each. Here is a pic of the 6 we kept and a pic of big fish of the night a 23" which i tossed back ;D

Nice job Freddy and coach.

I got the boat out in the canal Sunday and Monday and had a good time with the walleye. Sunday there were lots of big hens mixed in up to 23"+ Yesterday it was all males for me with nothing over about 19". The fish really turned on later in the day Sunday when the boats cleared out a little - nice to get the boat out so early.
shut up and fish
