Dug.....do you do box calls? I bought a box call from a guy at BPS and it has brought in more birds than all my other calls! The wing bone i got from that guy....i dont have the same confidence/mojo with! Its the same feeling of confidence as that favorite lure

Skunked by walleye, no I don't make box calls, just the wingbones. I know what you mean about the wingbone...they're completely different calls. I'm not much of a turkey hunter; but I now that you don't need to make loud sounds with any call...sometimes just a peep or a cluck or two will get a birds attention, no matter what call you're using. I never mastered the mouth call, couldn't figure that one out.
And, yeah, it's like a favorite lure for sure. There's nothing like calling birds or ducks, geese or even deer in close. Especially using something you made yourself. Now if I can just come up with a fish call... ::)

I am known to use various fish calls/talk to get them to bite.
"Wake up Fish, It's Breakfast time"......or "Come on fish it's Lunch Time" ....or Snack Time...or Dinner Time, depending on time of day. :D

My buddy Bruce likes to yell into the water on a real slow bite "COME ON , LETS START EATING YOU NO GOOD SLIMY , MISERABLE CREATURES !

There was a guy On Pepacton Res. that used to scream at the top of his lungs at the fish on dead calm, blazing sun, 90degree plus summer day with a slow bite..."KOWALSKYYYYYYY". You could hear him for well over a mile away, and you knew he had no fish up to that point!
I used to answer him back with a screaming , dying rabbit Predator mouth call !
I'm fishing my way through life .
