I have no choice right now but to go up on weekends. Still working full time. Will be 100% retired June 1st of next year. I usually go out early am and usually only fishermen out. That day, the 4th, we arrived after 9:00 am because the weather was crappy and we stayed home on the weekend. Had to pick up stuff for vacation next weekend. While there I decided to at least wet the line. I will be fishing from a kayak at Cayuga but was given some pointers where to go. Up at that end water is a maximin of 12'. Many spots 5' - 6'. Only after pannies and perch........

You may be referring to Stewart's Reservoir which lies between the Conklingville Dam and the Hudson....h2l

Went out last night, picked one up downrigging a Rapala, then Switched over to harnesses as the sun started going down. Picked up 6 more keepers and a few throwbacks. Tried leeches for the first time they worked well and our 3 biggest fish came on a leech

Good job Beerbelly, where did you get the leeches.

Jim’s in mayfield has them, along with some of the best night crawlers

How deep were you fishing. Agree on Jim's but too far for me to go there from my location on Sacandaga. I go to Bob's Bait and always had good bait. Leeches are my go-to bait this time of the year. Seems to out fish Dillies 3 to 1.
