As alot of you know, the Bassmaster Memorial is in Syracuse. After 2 days on Oneida, 51 pros and 510 bass weighed in! IMPRESSIVE! 1,349 lbs! This just goes to show you that we have one hell of a bass fishery right in our back yards that alot of us take for granted. I had a chance to talk with Mike Iaconelli, Skeet Reese, Peter T and a few others who all said that the fishery we have here should be held in high regards and that we should be proud of it. They also said that the fishing is so good on Oneida right now that you can go almost anywhere and catch fish. The keys seem to be watching for diving birds and anywhere that is 2-6 feet of water with channels and pockets in the grass.
I know that they probably wont see this post but would like to thank ALL of the pros who come here and fish our area and are very fan-friendly...they will take the time to talk to you and give you some pointers, take pictures and sign autographs and all for no-charge!
