Cranks at Cabela's
« on: Jun 28, 2012, 09:51 AM »
Seems like Cabela's has had a lot of various cranks on sale lately for 2 or 3 bucks a piece.  Appears to be a good time to stock some of my boxes.  I'm not exactly a crank connoisseur so I don't know  what's actually worth anything, but I've picked up a couple different sizes/styles in the obligatory black/chrome and chartreuse.  Also grabbing some other colors to try out.  Just figured I'd give you a guys a heads up or see if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be worth picking up.

Do you fish pike at all? If you do I seem to do well on them with jointed crank baits that have rattle shot in them in perch colors. I got two nice 6lb eater sized pike on that kind of crankbait the last weekend I was out camping and fishing on Noxon reservoir here in Montana. I like silver and black jointed for pike too, always with rattle shot in them. No idea why but my pike lures with rattle shot in them out perform those without it every single time I am out.

I think I grabbed black/silver, bright orange, chartreuse/purple, orange/black stripes, yellow/red stripes, silver/blue the other day.  all 1/2 oz or 5/8
