Tractor bucket. Iike 2 to 3 cubic yards.  Fills up a pickup pretty good......

Got tomatoes, cukes and pickles in yesterday. Found blossoms on my strawberries. Might have to buy some pepper plants. Mine are really slow starting.

Next up is a fountain bird bath. Should be fun to build.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Garden is complete!

This is not the latest and greatest photo as I added peppers, beans, onions, thyme and radish yesterday to finish it off.

Very busy in the gardens today.
Planted 5 varieties of peppers.

Mulched the garden pathways and most of the other plantings.

Planted herbs, Moonflowers and Cardinal Climbers.

Planted some heirloom tomatoes.

I mulched up the potato bags 3 days ago and they need it again. Still need to raise the potato bed to mulch them up some more.

To top that off, discovered a soft tire on my little red truck. Found a nail and had to plug the hole. Then I decided to remove the cover and replant  my trough planter with a crop of radishes. I discovered that it had sunk into the ground almost 6". So......tomorrow I have to empty it and set some patio blocks to raise and level it.

Fun day playing in the dirt.

  Sure looks great 👍

Got a good start on the raised beds, still a bit of leveling to do and some fencing. Put 2 new blueberry bushes in and transplanted some strawberries. Good start to the weekend ! Huge props to my bride for designing and drafting the beds  :-*

Wow! Don't think I've ever been inspirational before.

I've got a bunch of stuff to do today. Have to set some patio blocks and level the trough planter, finish mulching the plantings and build the trellis for my pickles and cukes.

Hopefully my son and I can get in a few rounds of horseshoes with a couple of beers.

Me too, gotta get my soil, I think I'm going with my local nursery's "Super Soil" It's a blend of top soil, compost and sand. Gotta finish off leveling the beds, mulch the walk ways, and get some fencing.

Then its off to the fairgrounds for the Watch day Fire, then to our friends for another fire. Planting tomorrow, been thinking about my lay out all night....

Got the trough planter all leveled up and on solid cement blocks. A lot of work, but well worth it.

Built a nice tall trellis for the cukes and pickles.

Finished mulching  the rest of the  gardens.

And....my new bird fountain got the JoJo seal of approval.

By the time he was done he was soaked from beak to tail. Really funny.

Then we let him climb around on the lilac bush and one thing lead to another.

By the time we were done he had ropes, toys and perches in the bush. He was loving life for sure. Before we added anything we did a search to be sure lilacs were on the "safe" list for parrots.

I have a feeling we're not done with this "parrot bush jungle gym".

A very busy morning followed by a very relaxing afternoon with my son and neighbors.
