Smallmouths
« on: May 06, 2007, 01:00 PM »
Went out this morning with a friend to a reservoir near Fort Wayne.  Can we say WINDY!!!  Found a handful of willing smallmouths that wanted a Rapala X-Rap.  Smallies were coming out of deeper water and hitting the jerkbait after a 5 second pause in between jerks.  Most were prespawn females, but we had a few males mixed in.  Love catching them on the jerkbait, they can't resist it most days!!!

Yesterday I may have of been at the same reservoir, arrived in my horse drawn buggy, and caught 1 smallie on the rip rap with jig-n-minnow.
