Well folks I did it. Took my boat out, picked a weather window and fid as much digging as I could to figure out a location. Well 30 miles is all it took until I found life of all sorts. Birds, dolphin all over and hump backs. Dropped the bars in and 5 minutes later zzzzzzzzzzz. Fish on! After she was in the boat I reset 3 times since the weeds were thick and about 1.5 hours later zzzzzzzz. Hooked up again. 2/2 on yellows and it was great watching dad perfectly pick up the other lines, work the boat and gaff. All this within 30 miles. I think I ate lbs of raw fish last night lol. We then called it quits around 9am and hammered some cod and seabass. Oh soooo sweet.

Stripernut, yes and I trolled through it with no hook ups. But 20 minutes later fish 2 was on.

Great job Mike! I was out at the cape this weekend and my father ran into a friend who had just landed one in the 250lb range. He was generous enough to give us some. Had some sashimi to start and then grilled some steaks up as well.

Either way they are out there. Relaxing today and tomorrow and then headed out Sunday night to Tuesday evening.

Well blasted the "small" boat out there again yesterday and found the feed at sun up and proceeded to troll from 630-10 with a giant Albie (probably a new, new) state record but we didn't care about that and let him go. Then hauled in a 50" and 41" yellow. Again trip 2 and went 2/2 on tuna. I must have some sort of clue as to what I'm doing considering all of the boats we chatted with at the ramp had none and they were in the same spot. (I mentioned new, new on albie since the RI state record was just broken)
My goal this time was to let my dad and buddy Mike and his son catch the fish while I worked the gaff. They all took turns on the fish and I couldn't be happier with our results...... and steaks lol. Then proceeded to add cod seabass and giant scup to the box.

We will have 30w's and avets with trevalas with us tomorrow so if we find them we'll try jigging. Monday night & Tuesday my buddy is bringing 50w's and 80w's so we will try to catch and release a giant.

Just lots and lots of research prior to pulling the trigger. Rigs, weather, all of it. Then you make a plan, try to figure out where the fish are and give it hell. So far so good.
