Title: Christmas in May
Post by: Chucker on May 04, 2004, 04:53 PM
The Feds decided to return the interest-free loan I gave them last year, so I had some play money.  Like any normal human being, I spent half of it at Thorne Brothers on a basic set of musky tackle.

Ooooooh, I wonder what could be inside?

A tackle box!

And the yummy goodies that were inside!

Nice purchase!  What is that chartruse and orange bait in the middle?  I recognize everything else but that is strange looking. :o

Nice stuff. Looks better than your telephone description. I'm sure you'll want to share with your family.

That's a Musky Innovations Spring Dawg.  It's a soft plastic that gives the fish a different look than the same old stuff.

Chucker - is it weighted like a jig or does it dive?

You mean float?  It's got a weighted head.  Here's Musky Innovations' page on them - http://www.muskyinnovations.com/bulldawgs.htm

If you pick one up, be careful.... Bensmen is on a fixed income now, so he may resort to other methods of lure acquirement.

Nice arsenal, please post any muskies caught on some of those plugs if you can. Would love to see some nice musky pictures. Where abouts you throw those awesome plugs? Canada? got to be.

Actually, I'm in wNY.  Plan on hitting Waneta/Lamoka and Black Lake this year.  Also hope to toss them in front of some tigers in cNY.

I guess you could say I'm an optimist.  I understand that's a vital component in musky fishing.  Bensmen is an Optimist, so I plan on taking tips from him.  ;)

LOL!  I'll hang on tight.

Pretty good selection you have there.  I've had good luck with at least 5 of the lures in your pic.   Let us know when you get your first of the season.  I'll be going out tomorrow but the river is pretty high and muddy so I don't know how successful I'll be.  Might have to fish for bass. :-\ >:(
