Guess the fishy!!
« on: Aug 18, 2004, 01:02 PM »
I went fishing last night and caught one nice walleye but then a lil while later I hooked into this.  Okay so it's not real hard to figure out what kind of fish this is, is it?   If you guess correctly you get.........ummmmmmmmmm.. okay, you get absolutely nothing but it's better than a stick in the eye.   I'm expecting somebody to nail this on the first reply.  By the way the fish did make a heck of a jump too.  Very acrobatic, like a steelhead.

It's a weed king, as I call them. Part of the chain gang.

Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!

Definatly a chain pickeral. Not a pike, because of the golden coloration on the side. Nice pick ;)

pickeral are a pretty fish, under rated as a game fish in my opinion as well

heres a link to distinguish between pike and pickeral http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/dfwpdf/dfw_esocidsposter.pdf

check it out, from massachusetts wildlife website
