Pan fishing trip
« on: Aug 01, 2020, 08:42 AM »
Ran on down to a favorite honey hole in search of a few bluegills for dinner.  The weather was unsettled after a period of stable if hot days and the wind was from the east -not exactly a recipe for success. Long story short, we couldn't catch the bluegills we sought because the redears were going crazy.  For every gill we caught, we picked up 4-5 redears. We kept 5 of each and kept a couple of nice sized crappie.
I cleaned and bagged them separately.  Next up will be taste test trials.....We look to be eatin good in the neighborhood.....

fish on,

Nice job.  Never thought much about a taste difference between redear and bluegill.  Let us know what you think when you get the taste test done.

Good job on the fish! I prefer bluegills over redears but will eat either when fish hungry. Hex
