Title: Paddling on the salt
Post by: stripernut on Jun 02, 2021, 03:40 AM
Took the canoe down to the Merrimack yesterday and got some schoolies (would have done better if I had there earlier). Stopped by Surfland and picked up a real nice TFO Inshore rod; TAC ISS 705-1, so light! Ran down the coast to Glouchester and picked up a few Winter Flounder (the bite was just picking up as the tide came in and I was leaving) and some more schoolies on my new rod! A long day with lots of underused muscles getting a workout... Advil is my friend!

I miss living on the coast...

Thats cool.  I had a 9 ft tfo for years.  Cheap but it was a decent rod for the money.

I love my 7ft inshore tfo for albies and bones. beat the snot out of it last season and it handled it flawlessly

I don't normally spend $175 on a spinning rod (clients too often break them) unless it is for tuna... But if you think that that is cheap, you have much more disposable income than I do... I liked it better than the St. Croix in the same range... It will get the job done and feels great in the hand.

You're right!  I should know better because I have tfo fly rods...
