OK Shane what is your prediction for the first salmon caught in the river this year? Above the DSR.

   

  The Main run should be late again like last year, but theres a few more wild fish around this year then last year so a couple very late August fish could happen, but I think the first minor run will hold off til September 5th, the labor day weekend water release.

Is there any water in the river? I know the tug got a few thunderstorms last night but I dont think  they amounted to much?

Kp, not good!!! Rivers gonna get hot with this ten day streak in the 80's. Spring trickles are drying up left and right as well.

Your right.....all of the bigger areas of standing water and smaller feeder streams are almost dried up. Man, we need a good soaking of rain.  

The only HOT I wanna see on the river is......a HOT run of salmon and steelhead!

For some reason i dont have very good luck on that river...and do we ever need some rain..forcast says high 90s for a while...

I have a question. Please don't laugh I really don't know.   what do you use for bait/ lures for salmon fishing.  I have never fished for salmon.  I live less then an hour from pulaski.  I have never gone.  don't even know where to start.  any help would be useful.   Jigs, spinners,  live bait??

Estaz egg flies, Jensen rubber eggs, skein, egg sacks or the enfamous black sponge. I generally use rubber eggs because they are cheap and easy to carry, but each has their time and place.
