In case any of you guys are interested, St. Croix is clearing out their discontinued Legend Elites from last year. 40% off with free shipping and a rod bag. I couldn't resist it myself. They're amazing rods.

At least no one who speaks English.

Reminds me of the old comedian Yakoff Smirnov up there right now. "In Russia,...steelhead catches YOU!"

Floated the river both days last weekend. Only saw a few hookups, nothing landed. Might swing back up this weekend, water should drop to a nicer level

Water has been running around 2000cfs at Pineville for awhile now it's high but fishable. The fishing seems slow to me the last few months but I can usually manage to get a couple by moving around a lot.

Has anyone been to the hatchery to see how many fish are in the runs?  After the poor year I was wondering how many made it up there.  I understand they have a new anesthesia for the fish that won't force them to keep the fish for three weeks while it wears off.  Does anyone know whether they have spawned the fish they are holding?

I saw a report on Facebook they are going to start taking eggs next week and the beginning of the following week. Weekdays only 9 to noon. From the pictures I saw on Facebook the raceways are loaded with some big boys.

River dropped too 1200 yesterday at noon and just dropped too 900, it has been a little more colored than normal, but I just walked too the post office and it looked pretty nice today..  Very cold this morning, 14 degrees probably aint helping the bite, I fished from my house too Ellis cove yesterday, every gravel area that normally holds steelhead during the spawn had fish, seen probably 20, hatchery is loaded like normal, they been taking eggs the last 3 days about 2-3 weeks early.  Everyone is under the impression theres no steelhead, but everything looked pretty normal too me yesterday.  I hooked 2 yesterday with a float, fished an hour or so, that's normal, the rivers still cold, when it warms up a bit, the bite will get better.
