Chowdaire your In Box is full!
It is really fun to have them hit flat lining
That's how I first started fishing them last year. Flat lining with my walleye rods in 15fow. The first one hit and I couldn't believe it. Just full speed in the other direction, and the boat was barely moving forward so my jaw dropped when I heard that drag screaming. Can't wait to do it again, although I'll use some heavier gear this year. I've got my braid dipsy rods and just bought upgraded hooks and split rings. They mangled the heck out of standard gear last year. Broke a couple of plugs in half too.All worth it though.
That sounds like a blast Chow!! I might just have to try it
When you start seeing them Hitting the river, then you know there are some around the mouth or the guys start posting their results , keep an eye on this thread , I'll tell ya , you will never forget the strike , if they are good ones it can be a struggle getting the rod out of the holder at times , we use to do our best on J-plugs , the good ol silver bullet , but there are other choices , trust me it's a hoot
I'll tell snag he needs to start reporting on here besides his FB page ,these days the eyes take up most of my fall , we all have our hang ups ,
