Utah Boys 2014
« on: Mar 28, 2014, 11:02 PM »
This year has started out ok on the soft water, The spring walleye always starts it off for me and whom ever i can drag along  ;D This year the #'s are pretty low in my opinion and even worse than last. So far only one eye for me, fishon1 & phishinphool's 1st

and on the down side we pulled over 8 carp in 3 trips tossing for the evasive eyes, most ever in my boat  :-\

Even with the dirty carp you cant beat days like this on the water

Today we got out to one of our favorite ice off lakes for some trout action and pulled over 30 bows between 2 of us, this one just couldn't get enough with the fresh meal he already had in his mouth and took our offering

Even got some fresh jiggin bait with this 22in fat sucker

Decided with the help of prospector to put me a new toon together for the waters where i cant get my boat and i must say it turned out pretty good and hopefully i will get its maiden voyage in over the next week

Tightlines everyone

Nice going muskyon64, those are a nice variety of fish you guys found. :)
Good to see someone on the open water all ready.

Here we have almost 4 feet of ice and it's still quite cool
for this time of year. Might be ice fishing in May! ::)

Thanks FB it sure was, had another stellar outing this afternoon. Pulled 20 for the 3 0f us in 3hrs with many that got off and missed bites. Heard rumors of a 9lber that came out yesterday where we fished today, but these were the biggest size class we could get to play. Now that's a rhyme  ;D

They are a blast when they are in the false spawn, really tight to the shore. Only one small one yesterday before the "W" killed it all

Cool catches muskyon46, those wipers look like a bast to fish for. 8)
We don't have them here in SK., too bad.

Had a chuckle at your bass t-shirt in the first photo also. ;D

Thanks FB & WW, this spring is turning on good and your right FB we'll take em all day  :thumbup_smilie: Gotta luv the Head-up the Bass shirt WW  ;D We took the kids out for a few hours this evening lookin for some more wipers and couldn't have asked for any better. Weathers been hit and miss down here lately and we got some good breezes earlier today and then it all calmed down for the afternoon/evening. This was how it all got started after the 1st baits went in

This one finished it off with 4 on the stringer for the frying pan

The kids had a tough time lifting this stringer up

The night was coming on and the fish had all but shut off, these views could not be better after a great afternoon hookin em up

We caught around 15, put 4 on the stringer and missed many bites with only one rod going in the water with a great save by fishon1's daughter.

We seen this crazy rock on our way in but didn't take the time to get a closer look till we were on our way out. Looked to be something crazy goin on here

What a great parting shot thinking of the next day out hookin them up

Thanks again FB, we made it out for a few more trips last Friday and yesterday. Friday was an all day event and the fishin was HOT all day. Got the 1st cast out around 7am and left the water at 5pm. Icecutterion had the 1st fish on with his 1st cast out with an eye. This was his 1st ever eye and wiper on the line

Phishinphool's son had blast Friday and we designated him our official netter when he wasn't reeling in his own catch

And here's a few of me and my buddies biggest for the day

The weather was pretty cold and wet for a day and I wasn't to motivated to go out yesterday but after my youngest stepson kept pleading with me to take him and his grandpa for some wipers and a call from my other buddy I figured I better just get off my but and load up the truck. My father inlaw had a blast in the 2 hrs we were ther before the wind/rain/hail blew us out. My father inlaw hooked into 4 and this was his 1st ever wiper

And his biggest

My buddy hooked quite a few and his nephew was all stoked to get his 1st one in too

Biggest fish went to my stepson with this 22in fattie and his 1st wiper

My boat is getting really neglected with all this good bank tangling. guess we'll see how this week goes  ;D

I hear ya, but can't blame ya.  But you kept your Wife's Dad happy, that's gotta be a positive along with all the great fishing!
