Rat, would you mind telling us what fly he caught that on?    Now that I've got a few hookups under my belt, I'm going out with the flyrod next week to try to get some on the flies.     From what I've read, they may be easier to hook with a small bluegill fly than with a large, hookless rope fly (as I've been using).    I'm curious, since there isn't a whole lot of information out there, what people might be catching them on.

so thats what they were talking about on the radio if its just one fish it will do little harm also i read that they used to be in the north east a long time ago

First thing I thought, too.   It's definitely not 37 inches, either.    Looks like an alligator gar but the size is way overestimated.    "Don't put your feet in the water".    Priceless.
