I bought a few of them up at Kittery.  I have an Okuma Reel and an 8' ugly stick and got that for 150.00.  I bought an eagle claw reel and rod combo for my father for 59.99.  I have a real nice Calcutta with an 7' Shimano Fiberglass Rod that I use along the shore.  That was $400.00.  It really depends on what you want.  I would check Bass Pro or KTP first though.

Congrats.  I am looking to get out there next week one day.  I have yet to fish Plumb Island but I here its great.  You were on the money too with your advice on Crappies on Robinson Pond in Hudson over the winter.  Great call!

let your friends know to watch yard sales, I just picked up two Senator reels on Party boat type rods for $20 and $50 each. Just remember, BUYER BEWARE, try them before you buy them!!!
