BIG LAKE
« on: Jul 02, 2021, 06:28 AM »
Looks like the north winds are making 8-10 foot waves today. So, guess I have to try for some gills. Maybe by Tuesday the big lake will be settled enough so I can try for some gold.

That's not what I wanted to hear.  Had plans to come up and spend the weekend.  Crap!

So, did you find any GOLD? In years past the harbors are loaded with boats, everyone wants to see the fireworks.

I took in a lake trout to mount once that had a fresh yellow perch in it's stomach. The lake trout was caught in 100 feet of water on the bottom.

One guide maintained perch numbers hadn't decreased they just went deeper.

Was out of Michigan City Tuesday and got skunked. Didn't move around too much as kiddos wanted to play on the beach. Marked fish in 30 fow and saw a number caught there. Another boat at the launch found some in 17 fow.
