Early Fly Patterns

Soo what do you like? I like sonefly larve, green/black bugger, prince nymph, and a hares ear nymph. I believe the trout early really like the nymph types and a few streamers, especially the minnnow patterns, muddlers, ghosts, and smelt types. I feel i will have better results ith nymphs early on.

Little black stones have been hatching steadily here in Monroe County for the past week.

im not a big flyfisherman but ive always been told anything dark-dark greens and black-works the best in the early season i know black rooster tails with either gold or silver spinners or leach patterns work good for me on a spinning reel ???

I generally use a beadhead hare's ear, muddler or dark colored woolly buggers.  Never tried streamers.  The streams I generally fish are pretty small and mostly filled with native trout.

I agree with Arch for spinning tackle, black with gold spinner blades on my preference  4lb Pline Flouroclear or 2 lb Maxima Ultragreen, and live minnows and or red worms work for me.

I like small pheasent tail nymphs, and when there is a hatch size 18-20 BWOs
