MFF's first cyber gourmet meal...
« on: May 02, 2004, 05:51 PM »
Well Grump, here are three of the main ingredients for our gourmet dinner...

First, the wine served chilled...

Next, the main dish 20" landlock salmon (kept from yesterday) poached or baked...

Side dish number one fiddleheads steamed and served in balsamic vinegar (picked fresh today; over 9 lbs)...

Does this make Grumpymoe a Happymoe??!?!??!!!  ;D  Now you come up with the morels to add to the meal!  ;D

Well, we will just have to catch a few more salmon/trout so that all the members can get healthy bite!!

Maybe we could serve up a grandslam: brookie, rainbow, brown, laker, landlock, cutthroat (requires help from Colorado members).  Any others you want on the menu?  I have some brookies and a laker or two that I can toss on the pile!  ;D

sorry, I never keep cutthroat, in many places it is illegal and in the places you can I never go because the fish are too small. But maybe raleigh can help you with that...

You will need to share some culinary secrets of the great morel with me first!  Then I will top off this awesome meal!  My folks are coming for a visit this weekend.  I have a landlock salmon waiting to accompany some creamed morel sauce!

How about your favorite poached fish recipe too??  ;D

No, I am a biologist.  Thank you for the compliment though.  I just enjoy food.  The more complex and rich the flavors, the happier I am!  The real joy is seeing other people pleased by my cooking.  It is a nice feeling knowing that you can create a meal that will light up faces and have people talking for a few days.  I also take immense pride in preparing my fish and game.  To me, it is as important to respect the harvest by a gourmet preparation!  As with anything I am passionate about, I strive to be as good as I can at it.   ;D
