Title: Coleman 5 hp external fuel tank
Post by: Doubles Shooter on Aug 10, 2019, 04:28 PM
A neighbor at camp just bought a used 5 hp Coleman. The motor runs great. He wants to set up an external fuel tank for it. I don't have any idea what brand fittings fit. Does anyone have any idea what might work?

Thanks a lot. That really isn't a bad motor, especially for what he paid for it. Our camp ground is between Hemlock and Canadice. It is a perfect motor for his small 14 foot boat.

The motor has a dual system. There is a fuel pump on it. You just turn a valve to use the other system.

Yes it does. He's all set now. A friend had a 3 gallon tank and hose he bought fro a motor he junked. All it took was a Yamaha female hose end. He makes me chuckle as we can run all day on less than a quart of gas with the on board tank.
