Finally caught one
« on: Apr 30, 2024, 06:25 PM »
I went fishing on the South Hoosic in Cheshire/Adams after dinner this evening from 6:15 to 7 PM.

The weather was overcast with sprinkles, and the temperature was 66 degrees.

I caught a 14" rainbow below the Cheshire Harbor dam but had no action downstream from there (Mullen Mayflower to the footbridge below it).

This was the first trout that I caught on a local river since the end of December - - although I did land some perch on the West and Southwest Branches of the Housatonic in Pittsfield this past weekend and reeled in a couple rainbows on the Sawmill in Montague the one before that.

Nice work Jim.  I think the fish are settling in from stocking and the high water.
