That would make sense as the boat is already there.

I did a little research on this species. It's been found in Maine, New York, Connecticut, Washington State and Southeastern Mass although it's native to the Southeastern U.S.  In one case mostly likely transferred by birds as the place it was found is very remote and boat launching is unlikely. If it spreads by fragmentation all bets are off.
