Are there any ice fishing spots on the eastern end of the lake
that you can easily walk out to that aren't that far. I'm an old guy  and
would like to try Oneida. Have never ice fished it. And can you tell
me where you can park? I'm from Rochester.
Any help would be appreciated guys.
TIA

John,

When you say aren't that far, how far is that, 1 mile, 1/2mile, 1/4 mile a few hundered feet or other?  Easily walk can depend on conditions.  If we have lots of snow any distance can be a challenge.

There are fishing opportunities within my walking distance out of Apps in Cleveland, Godfrey Point State Boat Launch, Jewell Public Fishing Access (the hill is a ball buster after fishing), North Bay (Edge Water), Sylvan Beach and if you can find parking Lewis Point.

I am 63 and all have fishing within my walking distance.

A little or no snow on the ice makes it easy for me to walk.

Hope you can make the trip and good luck with the fishing.

Depending on the ice but 1/2 mile maybe or a shade less is what’s needed , first ice eye fishing can be really outstanding , realizing, these eyes are not true trophies, but do run to the mid 20s , if you come stop at apps for the latest info ,

Went to the shore last night and I struck out but can’t complain second best year in 30 for keeper eyes , as I don’t count shorts
And the boat fishing was insane , so I’m looking forward to some ice action
Also I found something  , that they may want back , just describe what was left behind and I’ll be glad to return it

d**n Fred...awesome!! .....that’s a helluva fall.   I got out last night too. Beautiful night but went 0/0.  The sunset made it worth the trip though.  A few weeks ago when we had that cold I was thinking we’d have early ice. It’s not looking like that lately though. Can’t wait to get out there on the hard water!!!!!   Ps...  If it was a large bag of money you found it was me that lost it. I can be there ASAP to pickup. Lmk!!  :
