Neat. As they say, rather than giving them steroids or feeding them supplements. ("Power feeding") They are trying to genetically alter their DNA to stop the muscle growth inhibitor from doing what it does... inhibiting growth.
The only thing that I could forsee as being bad is if one parent could make viable offspring with a non-genetically altered parent. Then that would mean one escapee could potentially allow the altered DNA to denter the natural system. Worst case is if those fish have reproductive capabilities and could pass those genes along. (Even if they pass them to successive generations and aren't necessarily "muscle Trout".) themselves.
Its really interesting stuff and I can't wait to see how it goes. Just hope the research continues in the right hands as it seems to be. As they mention in the video, it has potential to benefit mankind. (And then on a side note - put a bigger bend in our rods if we can control it correctly.)
