Hi all,
I wanted to make you aware of an easy(er) way to search stocking data from Maine. http://www.open.fish (http://www.open.fish), lets you search past reports by water, fish type, etc, so you don't need to search through those PDFs the state provides.
It's no guarantee that you'll catch anything, but every little bit helps.
Happy Spring Fishing!

Somebody in your pocket again. ;D

I find nothing wrong with the states report as it's usually updated the next day after they stock.
-
The states FREE listing update on a regular basis . This is not worth the money .

Lol first post, seems legit...

They want $7.00 just to tell us what states stocking report says . we can all read it ourselves for free .
-
Do they stock suckers on that report?

The reports of stocking brooks in Cumb. county are put up a couple of days after it is actually done which gives the friends of the hatchery
workers plenty of time to get most of the brookies before anyone else knows about it. The paltry amounts stocked in this part of the state
means it doesn't take long.
-
its pretty sad to be chasing the stocking truck, they should wait a month before updating that report ;D
-
I like to park outside the hatchery with a tank full of gas and wait . you never know where you'll be fishing ,But the bite is always on .

What good would that do ? They call their friends as soon as they find out where they are going to stock that day.
I like to catch trout whether they are stocked or not... I am too old and beat up to get far from the road like I did when I was younger
to find the natives.

The funny thing is they actually do that, witnessed it this last autumn, kinda sad if you ask me... but hey if that's what floats your boat go for it i guess

I only look at the stocking reports from 1 to 2 years back. Not chasing the little guys. Holdovers all the way!!

When I just want to spend some time close to home and catch some fish I go to the put and take ones in the rivers, even if I just catch and release. If I can get my friend with the boat to go for something besides bass, I go to a few lakes that stock small and have to wait for them to grow to legal size, plus there's also the chance for salmon in those waters.

I mostly check the stocking reports for the lakes, not so much the rivers.
