Decent catch there rg.  I went to my "crappie" pond rite after ice out but struck out. As soon as these cold temps give up again i'll give it another go.
Looking forward to working the fly rod again

Yeah, I’m resolved to spend more time with my fly rods this year.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Sad to say I haven’t picked up a fly rod in years. I have them all from 4 weight Leonard bamboo to a 12 wt salt water tuna/ marlin rod .  My favorite times were flyrodding big gills  on a Long Island pond back in the day.

Find a pond and get the 3 wt out this spring. Nothing better for the aging  soul.

If you need flies, say the word.

Nice.  You did way better than I did yesterday. I might have to make a road trip.

Great piles of stripers!

Hit a finger lake for few hours and kept half a bucket. Few guys were coming off while I was launching and had terrible morning. Told them afternoon been better. Not sure it has been or not but they bolted for Cayuga. Waters still 39 degrees.

Lakers are on the hunt too. Broke one off and caught 2 others in the 24" range that got to swim away. Perch are still tight. No invasives though.
Hope the crew landed on them at Cayuga as they were not impressed with the clear cold water they tried that morning.

That clear cold water produces some very nice colorful perch..
